The QNAP SS-439 Pro delivers high performance, advanced RAID protection, built-in iSCSI target service and AES 256-bit volume-based encryption for small and medium business.
The SS-439 Pro houses four 2.5" SATA hard drives with the total storage capacity of up to 2TB. It is an energy-saving server with low heat output and low noise levels.
Powered by the Intel Atom 1.6 GHz CPU and 1GB DDRII memory, the SS-439 Pro supports RAID 0/ 1/ 5/ 6/ 5 + hot spare, single, JBOD, Online RAID Capacity Expansion, and Online RAID Level Migration. To meet the demands for high security data protection, the SS-439 Pro supports AES 256-bit volume-based encryption.
The SS-439 Pro can serve as an iSCSI target server. The built-in iSCSI target feature provides an affordable IP-SAN (Storage Area Network) alternative. And a “Virtual Space Allocation" (Thin Provisioning) feature is provided which allows you to flexibly allocate the capacity of iSCSI LUNs (Logical Unit Number) at the beginning regardless of the physical volume capacity.
Many server functions are provided 'straight out of the box'- such as file server, FTP server, DDNS support, Web server with built-in phpMyAdmin, Joomla, MySQL/ SQLite, editable php.ini, MySQL server and printer server (max 3 sets), etc.
All these server functions can be accessed across Linux, UNIX, Mac, and Windows platforms. The SS-439 Pro also supports all-in-one XDove mail server by QPKG software which enables users to establish their own mail server easily and at the minimum cost.
The Surveillance Station feature is available for the users to monitor and record the video from up to four IP-based cameras to enhance the office security.
